San Pedro Café

I’m going east of the border this month to the San Pedro Café located in Hudson, Wisconsin. San Pedro Café is a Caribbean-themed restaurant and bar that offers a variety of specialty dishes not readily found in the Twin Cities. An easy 15 minute drive from Saint Paul and 30 minutes from Minneapolis, the City of Hudson is truly a hidden paradise. It has more than 10 restaurants and bars located on or within one block of the St. Croix River, a quaint bike shop, candy store, and many other casual shopping venues which makes Hudson one of my favorite places to visit and dine. Pier 500, Barkers and The Agave Kitchen are great choices but none compare to San Pedro Cafe. The Street Tacos, Yucatan Pork Stew or Shrimp St. Croix Linguine will make you wish you had been born next door. The Wood Fired Pizza, Tropical Crab Cake and Smoked Duck Nachos are my favorite appetizer choices. Desserts are also unreal; try the Chocolate Habanero Cake or Banana Bread Pudding. If you are really looking for a treat, take in Sunday Brunch, where you will find Huevos Rancheros, Pedro’s French Toast and Scotch Eggs.

Bill’s Beverage of the
Month

My beverage of choice at San Pedro Café is the Margarita. I’m a margarita connoisseur at heart, and I’ve never had a better margarita than I did at San Pedro Café. I’m extremely particular about my margaritas, and if the bar keep doesn’t describe a house made version of fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice with a splash of simple syrup, quality Tequila and either Grand Marnier or Cointreau, I’ll quickly turn it down and order beer, wine or water instead. San Pedro Café serves the real deal, and I highly recommend it. Another great option for the ladies, and a favorite of my best friend and wife, Barb, is the San Pedro Mai Tai. Guys, if you want to make your significant other happy, make the drive and suggest she try one, it is truly spectacular. Break out of the Cities for a change and visit our friends in Hudson. We now share and understand the magic of #4 Favre, GO VIKES!
